Role & responsibilities:

Job Title: Accounts & Finance Manager

Job Summary:

The Accounts & Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of accounting, finance, taxation, banking, and MIS (Management Information Systems) operations for the organization. This role ensures compliance with statutory requirements, accurate financial reporting, efficient cash flow management, and supports the General Manager Accounts & Finance in strategic planning and audits.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Statutory Compliance & Taxation:

  • Manage TDS, GST/VAT, Income Tax, and Advance Tax filings in coordination with auditors and HR.
  • Handle statutory audits, tax assessments and provide necessary documentation to regulatory authorities.
  • Serve as the point of contact for external auditors and ensure timely completion of audits.

2. Accounting & Financial Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate books of accounts for the company and its partners, including Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss Account, Bank Reconciliation and Fixed Asset Register.
  • Ensure proper booking of inward receipt entries in the accounting system (e.g., VG).
  • Scrutinize and authorize cheque payments prepared by the Accounts Payable (AP) team.

3. Payments, Receivables & Cash Flow Management:

  • Authorize vendor and customer payments.
  • Monitor receivables and payables, ensuring timely follow-ups and clearances.
  • Maintain optimal cash flow by managing daily banking activities and forecasts.

4. MIS Reporting:

  • Prepare and present daily/weekly MIS reports such as:

  • Cash Flow Reports

  • Receivables/Payables Reports
  • Investment Trackers
  • Budget vs. Actual Consumption Analysis

  • Monthly Profit & Loss Account and Balance Sheet

  • Coordinate with other departments to gather data required for MIS and financial reporting.

5. Banking & Compliance Documentation:

  • Coordinate with banks for FIRC, BRC, and other relevant documentation.
  • Resolve banking queries and ensure adherence to compliance standards.

6. Audit Support:

  • Act as the primary coordinator for Tax Audits and Statutory Audits.
  • Prepare Fixed Asset Registers and depreciation schedules.
  • Provide timely data and resolve queries raised by auditors.

7. Managerial & Administrative Support:

  • Assist the General Manager Accounts & Finance with financial analysis and departmental coordination.
  • Arrange internal and external meetings, draft minutes (e.g., meetings with VG team, bankers) and follow up on assigned action items.
  • Communicate with internal departments and external stakeholders as required.

Preferred candidate profile

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting, Finance or MBA (Finance) / Inter CA.
  • Experience: 6-10 years in finance and accounting roles, preferably in a managerial capacity.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of Indian taxation laws, statutory compliance, and accounting principles.
  • Skills: Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to multitask and work under deadlines.
