Job Title: Press Tool Design Engineer

Location: Pimpri Pune

Salary Range: INR 20,000 - INR 27,000 per month

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Develop and Revise Detailed Manufacturing Drawings

  • Create, modify, and release 2D and 3D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks/Auto cad.
  • Ensure all drawings clearly define dimensions, tolerances, materials, and assembly instructions as per manufacturing standards.

2. Tool and Fixture Design & Development

  • Design and develop prototype tooling, fixtures, and gauges to support manufacturing and quality assurance activities.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (CFT) for design reviews, trials, and evaluation of components and tooling.
  • Perform engineering calculations related to press tool design to ensure functionality and safety.

3. Technical Support and Problem-Solving

  • Provide technical support to the manufacturing team by resolving drawing-related issues and discrepancies.
  • Apply strong problem-solving skills to identify root causes and improve design and manufacturing processes.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance drawing quality, accuracy, and release efficiency.

4. Collaboration and Communication

  • Work closely with Design, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Attend and contribute to design review meetings, clearly explaining design intent, changes, and improvements.

5. Change Management

  • Manage the Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process for released drawings.
  • Ensure all revised drawings follow the same review, approval, and release process as initial drawings.
  • Maintain a structured and easily accessible system for tracking and managing design changes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in 3D and 2D CAD software, particularly SolidWorks (mandatory).
  • Candidates from NTTF, IGTR, or GTTC institutes are preferred.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
