Founding Solutions Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a Founding Solutions Engineer / Architect to serve as the technical bridge between our Account Executive team and customers. This role will be responsible for taking handoff from the AE team, building integrated solutions across every industry we serve. You will be instrumental in ensuring technical readiness, running proof of concepts, and providing critical feedback loops to shape our product evolution.

Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Handoff & Solutions Architecture

• Receive handoff from AE team and conduct deep-dive discovery sessions to understand customer technical requirements, existing infrastructure, and business objectives
• Design and architect integrated solutions that leverage our platform capabilities to solve industry-specific challenges
• Create comprehensive technical architecture diagrams and integration plans tailored to each customer's environment

Technical Readiness Documentation

• Develop detailed technical readiness documents including system requirements, integration specifications, security protocols, and deployment architectures
• Document camera specifications, VMS compatibility requirements, network prerequisites, and data flow architectures
• Create implementation guides and runbooks for customer IT teams and internal deployment teams
• Maintain a library of technical assets and best practices for each industry vertical

Proof of Concept (POC) Execution

• Lead end-to-end POC planning, scoping, and execution across diverse customer environments
• Coordinate camera access, video feed collection, and data security protocols with customer teams
• Configure and deploy our platform to demonstrate value within POC timelines (typically 30-90 days)
• Analyze POC results, generate insights reports, and present findings to customer stakeholders
• Establish success metrics and KPIs for each POC aligned with customer business objectives

Field Data Engineering (FDE)

• Act as the technical expert for every industry vertical we engage with (retail, F&B, manufacturing, security, etc.)
• Understand industry-specific workflows, SOPs, compliance requirements, and use case nuances
• Conduct on-site visits when necessary to understand operational environments and technical constraints
• Work closely with customers to identify the most impactful use cases and monitoring requirements for their specific industry
• Develop industry-specific solution frameworks and templated approaches

Customer Follow-up & Success

• Maintain regular communication with customers throughout POC and implementation phases
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting during pilots and early production deployments
• Conduct training sessions for customer teams on platform capabilities and best practices
• Ensure smooth handoff to Customer Success team for ongoing support post-deployment

Feedback Loop & Product Collaboration

• Serve as the voice of the customer to internal product and engineering teams
• Document feature requests, technical limitations, and integration challenges encountered in the field
• Collaborate with engineering on prioritizing product enhancements based on customer feedback
• Contribute to product roadmap discussions with insights from customer deployments
• Help shape our go-to-market strategy based on technical learnings from diverse industries

Required QualificationsTechnical Skills

• 5+ years of experience in solutions engineering, technical architecture, or similar customer-facing technical role
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and edge computing architectures
• Proficiency in API integrations, webhooks, and workflow automation tools (e.g., N8N, Zapier)
• Familiarity with computer vision, AI/ML concepts, and multimodal AI systems (preferred)
• Knowledge of enterprise security requirements, data privacy regulations, and compliance frameworks

Industry & Domain Knowledge

• Experience working with enterprise customers in physical industries (retail, manufacturing, hospitality, security)
• Understanding of operational workflows and SOPs in at least 2-3 industry verticals
• Ability to quickly learn and become proficient in new industry domains

Communication & Collaboration

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Experience creating technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and presentation materials
• Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple POCs and customer engagements simultaneously
• Collaborative mindset with ability to work cross-functionally with sales, product, and engineering teams

Startup Experience

• Thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with limited processes and structure
• Self-starter mentality with ability to define and build processes from scratch
• Comfortable wearing multiple hats and adapting to changing priorities
• Previous experience at an early-stage startup (seed to Series A) strongly preferred

Success Metrics

• Number of successful POCs completed and converted to paid customers
• Time to deployment and technical readiness for new customer engagements
• Quality and completeness of technical documentation and solution architectures
• Customer satisfaction scores (CSAT) during technical implementation phase
• Product feedback volume and quality shared with engineering team
• Number of industry verticals successfully enabled with tailored solutions
