Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled MMS funtional Engineer to support the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of the Hitachi ABB Market Management System (MMS) in energy market operations. This role focuses on managing and optimizing MMS. The ideal candidate will have expertise in system installation, data integration, automation, and patch management, with a strong emphasis on delivering efficient, reliable market systems.

Responsibilities

• System Installation and Configuration
• Install and configure the Hitachi ABB MMS on Linux-based platforms.
• Validate and test MMS configurations to ensure alignment with market and operational requirements.
• Perform system upgrades and apply infrastructure patches, including Oracle and third-party software.
• Data Integration and Validation
• Ensure seamless data integration between MMS, SCADA, EMS, and other external systems using protocols like ICCP and CIM.
• Validate data sources and ensure accessibility for market operations.
• Automation and Scripting
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Ansible to streamline system installations, patching, and maintenance processes.
• Continuously improve system deployment workflows for efficiency and repeatability.
• Performance Optimization and Maintenance
• Monitor system health and optimize the performance of MMS components.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to implement enhancements and resolve technical issues.
• Compliance and Security
• Ensure system compliance with regulatory standards, including NERC CIP.
• Manage user access controls and enforce security best practices.
• Documentation and Reporting
• Maintain detailed documentation for installations, configurations, and system changes.
• Generate periodic reports on system performance, upgrades, and patching activities.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Hitachi ABB MMS, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
• Proficiency in Linux systems administration.
• Strong understanding of integration protocols like ICCP, CIM, and REST/SOAP APIs.
• Experience with automation tools, particularly Ansible, for deployment and patching.
• Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL) for MMS data management.
• Solid troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve technical challenges effectively.
• Knowledge of infrastructure patching and regression testing.
• Strong focus on delivering high-quality solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Shell scripting.
• Familiarity with power systems and energy market workflows.
• Knowledge of containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
• Understanding of cybersecurity standards and practices for critical infrastructure.
