Position Overview

The Chief Architect will lead the design function at KG Foundations, overseeing architectural design, statutory approvals, and cross-functional coordination. This role involves managing internal design teams, engaging with external consultants, and ensuring that all project drawings meet regulatory requirements (CMDA, DTCP) and are approved on time for seamless project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design Leadership & Management

  2. Head the Design Department, guiding architects, draftsmen, and design coordinators.

  3. Establish and maintain design standards aligned with company vision and project requirements.

  4. Drive design development from concept to execution stage.

  5. Regulatory & Statutory Coordination

  6. Liaise with CMDA, DTCP, and other statutory bodies for plan sanctioning and approvals.

  7. Ensure timely submission and follow-up of applications, drawings, and documents.

  8. Keep updated on zoning regulations, bye-laws, and amendments to ensure compliance.

  9. Consultant Coordination

  10. Coordinate with Design Consultants, MEP Consultants, Structural Consultants, and other specialists.

  11. Review and integrate inputs from various consultants into cohesive final drawings.

  12. Ensure design and engineering drawings are aligned for constructability and statutory compliance.

  13. Project Interface

  14. Work closely with the Project Execution Team to deliver approved drawings on schedule.

  15. Conduct design review meetings and resolve technical or design-related issues.

  16. Support procurement teams in preparing tender drawings and BOQs.

  17. Quality & Compliance

  18. Review and approve all architectural drawings prior to release for execution.

  19. Ensure all design outputs meet aesthetic, functional, safety, and sustainability standards.
  20. Implement quality checks to prevent rework during construction.

Qualifications & Experience

  • B.Arch / M.Arch from a reputed institution.
  • Minimum 15+ years of experience in architectural design for residential and mixed-use real estate projects.
  • Strong experience in CMDA / DTCP approval processes.
  • Proven track record in design team leadership and multi-consultant coordination.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong technical knowledge of building codes, NBC, and local bye-laws.
  • Excellent project management and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and related design tools.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills with statutory bodies.
  • Attention to detail with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Zero or minimal re-submissions due to compliance errors.
  • Adherence to project design timelines and budgets.

  • Quality and functionality of design outputs.
