Role Description

We are hiring a
Back End Developer

to design, build, and scale robust server-side systems powering Ed-Astra's products. This role focuses on
architecture

,
API development

, and
cloud-native deployment

. You will own backend features end-to-end—from system design to production deployment—while ensuring performance, security, and scalability.

You'll collaborate closely with front-end developers, product stakeholders, and leadership to build reliable, high-quality software aligned with long-term architectural goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain
    scalable REST APIs

using
and Express
- Build and optimize backend services with
MongoDB

(schema design, indexing, performance tuning)
- Deploy, monitor, and manage applications on
AWS EC2
- Implement secure and efficient
file storage and media handling using AWS S3
- Configure and maintain
Nginx

as a reverse proxy and load balancer
- Ensure application performance, reliability, and security in production environments
- Debug, profile, and resolve backend issues across development and production
- Write
clean, modular, reusable, and production-grade code
- Collaborate with front-end teams to integrate APIs seamlessly
- Follow backend best practices including logging, error handling, and API versioning
- Maintain code quality using
Git-based version control

Technical Requirements

  • Strong experience in
    Back-End Web Development

using

- Proficiency with

and RESTful API design
- Solid understanding of
Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
- Hands-on experience with
MongoDB
- Experience deploying and managing applications on
AWS EC2
- Working knowledge of
AWS S3

for file uploads and storage
- Experience configuring
Nginx
- Familiarity with
Git

and collaborative development workflows
- Basic understanding of front-end concepts to support backend integration
