Welder/Fitter

• Reading Blueprints and Technical Drawings: Interpreting engineering plans, blueprints, and welding symbols to plan layouts and procedures.
• Welding and Fabrication: Performing welding using various techniques (MIG, TIG, ARC, etc.) on different types of metal (steel, aluminum, alloys) and in various positions (flat, vertical, overhead).
• Material Preparation: Measuring, cutting, shaping, and preparing metal components for welding using a range of tools like power saws, angle grinders, and cutting torches.
• Assembly and Alignment: Aligning and clamping components to be welded, sometimes using jigs or fixtures, to meet exact specifications.
• Inspection and Testing: Assessing welded surfaces and structures to identify flaws and ensure they meet quality standards and project specifications.
• Equipment Maintenance: Operating, maintaining, and repairing welding equipment and tools to ensure they are in safe working condition.
• Safety Adherence: Following strict safety protocols, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintaining a clean and safe work area.
• Collaboration: Working with a team of engineers, fabricators, and supervisors to complete projects on time.
• Operating Heavy Machinery: Using equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, or hoisting equipment to move heavy materials or reach different work areas.
