Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and maintain Linux server environments across various platforms.
  • Monitor system performance and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues to minimize downtime.
  • Implement system updates, upgrades, and patches as required.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls on Linux systems.
  • Develop and maintain scripts for automation to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Ensure system security by applying best practices and monitoring for vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with teams to design and implement disaster recovery plans.
  • Assist in the integration of cloud technologies to support scalability.
  • Document processes for infrastructure management and system configurations.
  • Optimize performance of databases and applications hosted on Linux servers.
  • Setup virtualization technologies for efficient resource usage.
  • Evaluate and implement monitoring tools to track system health.
  • Provide second and third-level support for escalated issues.
  • Participate in capacity planning and infrastructure scalability initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in Linux system administration.
  • Proficient in at least one major Linux distribution (e.g., Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS).
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, Perl).
  • Understanding of virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, KVM).
  • Familiarity with container technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Certification in Linux (e.g., RHCE, LPIC) is a plus.
  • Prior experience working in TechOps or related operations roles is preferred.
  • Knowledge of databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) is advantageous.
