Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain applications using Cobol, JCL, SQL.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application issues and bugs
  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications using Cobol, JCL
  • Develop, maintain, and support mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, and other mainframe technologies.
  • Design, implement, and optimize SQL queries and database structures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
  • Perform code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality software.
  • Monitor and improve system performance and reliability.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for mainframe and SQL-related issues.
  • Document processes, procedures, and technical specifications.
  • Automate repetitive tasks and improve efficiency.
  • Ensure codes/documents are well-documented and maintainable.
  • Design, develop, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.
  • Perform database administration tasks, including backups, restores, and performance tuning.
  • Ensure data integrity and security.
  • Collaborate with data analysts and other stakeholders to meet data requirements.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 6+ years' experience with increasing responsibilities and scope using Mainframe + Teradata tools and practices.
  • Develop, maintain, and support mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, and other mainframe technologies.
  • Analyze and understand business requirements to design effective technical solutions.
  • Perform code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality software.
  • Monitor and improve system performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for mainframe-related issues.
  • Document processes, procedures, and technical specifications.
  • Develop coding standard and code-reviews.
  • Manage code deployments.
  • Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field.
  • Documenting application changes and developing updates.
  • Ability to provide and implement technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
  • Strong customer service focus.
  • Ability to participate in discussions with all levels of the organization and provide balanced information of an idea or communication of an issue regardless of written or verbal.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate project deadlines.
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies such as Agile and Scrum.
