Electrical Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to join our team specializing in renewable energy projects, with a focus on both solar and wind energy systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and a proven track record in designing and implementing solar photovoltaic (PV) and wind turbine installations. This role will involve collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop efficient and reliable electrical systems for renewable energy projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Design electrical systems for solar PV and wind turbine installations, including layout, wiring diagrams, and equipment selection.
• Perform electrical calculations and simulations to optimize system performance, considering factors such as efficiency, wind patterns, shading, and environmental conditions.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate electrical systems into overall project plans, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.
• Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to evaluate the suitability of locations for renewable energy installations, considering electrical infrastructure, wind resources, sun exposure, and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure compliance with local, national, and international electrical codes and standards in all design and installation activities, including NEC, IEEE, IEC, and relevant wind energy standards.
• Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to procure electrical equipment and components, ensuring compatibility, quality, and adherence to project specifications.
• Provide technical guidance and support during the construction, commissioning, and testing phases of renewable energy projects, collaborating with installation teams to ensure successful project implementation.
• Identify and resolve electrical issues and challenges during project execution, implementing solutions to optimize system performance, reliability, and safety.
• Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory developments related to solar and wind energy, contributing to continuous improvement and innovation within the organization.
• Document design decisions, calculations, and project specifications in accordance with company standards, maintaining accurate records throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Proven experience in electrical design, with a focus on renewable energy projects involving both solar and wind technologies.
• Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, WindPRO, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, including circuit analysis, power distribution, and protection systems, as applied to renewable energy systems.
• Familiarity with relevant codes and standards governing electrical installations, including NEC, IEEE, IEC, and wind energy standards such as IEC 61400 series.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to optimize system performance and troubleshoot complex electrical issues.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to producing high-quality deliverables within project timelines.
• Experience with project management methodologies and tools is desirable.
• Professional certifications such as Professional Engineer (PE) license or NABCEP Solar PV Installer certification are advantageous.
