This is the Invention Age - and this is where you come in.General Summary:Qualcomm reviews all applications that meet the following qualifications:Required Qualifications:10+Years Strong technical engineering experienceBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.Preferred Qualifications:Extensive experience with the operation and maintenance of facility environments, including heating and cooling systems (Chillers, Pumps, cooling towers, AHUs, exhaust fans, adiabatic systems, thermal storage systems, PAC units, fire suppression systems, VESDA, security, life safety, and electromechanical control systems)Hands-on Experience of conducting energy audits and recommend energy-efficient solutions and work with architects and contractors to integrate HVAC systems into new buildings or renovations.Experience with alternative, energy-efficient water treatment methodologies and developing a good program for processed water treatment and utilizationUnderstanding of maintenance and operation of critical environment backup equipment (diesel generators, radiators, ventilation systems, fuel storage, distribution, elevators, and protection systems)Knowledge of construction techniques, terminology, and documentation (ability to interpret blueprints, electrical one-lines, construction drawings, etc.)Practical experience with building management systems and automation, controls, and frameworksFundamental understanding of HVAC principles and systems, Basic experience with HVAC design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar), Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Knowledge of energy monitoring and implement sustainability practices and familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE,ISHRAE, NBC& IMC)Proficiency in Building Management Systems (BMS) and automation platforms.Align HVAC operations with ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives.Certification in Energy Management, HVAC Design & Operations, or BMS Operation will be preferredResponsibilities:As a successful Critical Environment Mechanical Engineer, your performance objectives include:Demonstrating a strong desire and capability to learn, grow, and develop new skillsPromoting a culture of safety, security, and compliance in all aspects of critical labs and data center activitiesTaking overall responsibility for the safe operation of our facilitiesUnderstanding the design and functionality of critical rooms, labs, and data centersManaging ongoing critical engineering maintenance support for all service lines to pre-defined SLAs, ensuring service uptime is maintained to the highest standards and faults are addressed promptlyManaging incidents that impact Qualcomm services and ensuring proactive and timely resolution of such incidentsCollaborating with the Construction and Commissioning team to integrate new mechanical systems into existing and future projectsProvide technical guidance to HVAC technicians and other team membersDevelop and implement preventive maintenance programs for HVAC systems.Test HVAC system performance and make adjustments as necessarySupporting and validating critical room operations in relation to mechanical infrastructureAct as the mechanical SME for on-site operations related to mission-critical mechanical systems, operations, and functionalityServing as the technical authority for on-site operations related to large-scale mission-critical mechanical systems, design, and functionalityEstablishing and coordinating maintenance and safety operating procedures required to maintain highly redundant mechanical designs within the systemEmpowering operational optimization and efficiency improvement initiativesBackground Check Requirements:Ability to meet Qualcomm HR/Security screening requirements, including but not limited to the Qualcomm Cloud Background CheckApplicants: Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
