Job Description

The SAP MDG Consultant is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining SAP Master Data Governance solutions to ensure clean, consistent, and reliable master data across the enterprise. This role focuses on improving data accuracy, enforcing governance standards, automating workflows, and supporting integrated SAP and non-SAP systems. The consultant collaborates with business and IT teams to streamline master data management and drive data-driven decision-making.​

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.​
• 3–7 years of experience in SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) design, configuration, or implementation.​
• Proven expertise in at least one MDG domain (Material, Customer, Vendor, or Finance Master Data).​
• Solid understanding of data management, modeling, and governance principles.​
• Hands-on experience in full-cycle SAP MDG implementations, including customization and integration with SAP S/4HANA or ECC.​
• SAP MDG certification is preferred; exposure to SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) or cloud-based MDG environments is an advantage.​
• Experience with BRF+, Fiori UI configuration, and workflow management tools.​

Essential SkillsTechnical Skills

• Configuration of data models, UI models, change request types, and workflows in SAP MDG.​
• Experience designing BRF+ rule-based workflows and data replication mechanisms.​
• Knowledge of SAP HANA and data modeling techniques for master data optimization.​
• Ability to integrate SAP MDG with ETL tools (SAP Data Services, Information Steward) and external systems for data harmonization.​
• Familiarity with the MDG Hub and co-deployment architectures.​
• Strong experience with data quality, cleansing, migration, and governance reporting tools.​

Functional Skills

• Ability to gather business requirements and translate them into SAP MDG solutions aligned with enterprise data governance frameworks.​
• Expertise in defining business rules, validation logic, approval workflows, and change management processes.​
• Understanding of cross-functional data domains and integration with MM, SD, FI/CO, and CRM modules.​
• Development of master data quality strategies and execution of continuous improvement initiatives.​

• Experience with SAP MDG Cloud Edition or MDG on SAP S/4HANA systems.​
• Knowledge of modern data governance frameworks, metadata management, and Master Data as a Service (MDaaS).​
• Exposure to AI/ML-based data quality enhancement and master data automation solutions.​
• Project leadership skills in managing MDG rollouts and multi-region deployments.
