Role & responsibilities

1. Direct & Indirect Taxation

  • Ensure timely compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other applicable laws.
  • Prepare and file monthly/quarterly/annual tax returns.
  • Handle GST reconciliations, input tax credit, and TDS compliance.
  • Ensure proper tax deduction at source on vendor/customer payments.

2. Tax Planning & Advisory

  • Provide tax planning strategies to optimize tax liability within legal framework.
  • Review contracts and agreements to ensure correct tax clauses are included.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws, rules, and regulations, and assess their impact on the company.

3. Audit & Assessments

  • Manage statutory audits, internal audits, and tax assessments.
  • Liaise with statutory auditors, tax consultants, and government authorities.
  • Prepare necessary documentation for scrutiny, assessments, and appeals.

4. Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of all tax-related matters.
  • Maintain proper documentation and records for audits and statutory requirements.
  • Develop and implement internal processes for smooth tax compliance.

5. Team & Coordination

  • Guide the finance team on day-to-day tax matters.
  • Coordinate with operations, procurement, and other departments for tax-related clarifications.
  • Train team members on updates in taxation relevant to logistics and supply chain business.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and Corporate Tax.
  • Familiarity with taxation issues specific to logistics, warehousing, fleet management, and transport industry.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting systems (Tally, SAP, or ERP preferred).

Qualification & Experience:

  • CA / CMA / MBA (Finance) preferred.
  • Minimum 610 years of taxation experience, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial role.
  • Prior experience in the logistics / transport / supply chain industry is an added advantage.
