We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer with expertise in real-time multiplayer game development to join our team. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and scaling our secure multiplayer game server built with Colyseus and TypeScript.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement game logic for real-time multiplayer experiences
  • Develop and maintain state management systems (Room, Game, Player states)
  • Create robust message handling systems for real-time communication
  • Implement complex game mechanics including timers, scoring, and progression systems
  • Design scalable room management systems for handling multiple concurrent game sessions
  • Optimize real-time performance for low-latency gameplay
  • Implement efficient state synchronization across multiple clients
  • Working with data generated during game play to extract skill and team dynamics related information

Qualifications

  • TypeScript/JavaScript (Advanced proficiency)
  •  and modern JavaScript features
  • Multiplayer game development (at least 2 years)
  • Real-time game server architecture

  • Game state synchronization and conflict resolution

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field

  • 3 - 5 years of professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of multiplayer game development experience
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with production systems and deployment
  • Excellent communication skills and team collaboration

Good to have

  • Knowledge of Colyseus game server framework
  • AWS cloud platforms
  • Game development portfolio with multiplayer projects
  • Knowledge of game design principles and user experience
  • Experience with real-time analytics and monitoring tools
