Engineer Staff

Job Summary:

Mechanical Seal order engineering service involves mainstream support extended from engineering centers on the design and development of device, assemblies, or system to be produced through production manufacturing process in various business units. While referred to as Order Engineering in some areas, employees in these roles are responsible for managing mainstream supports for various business units which execute time bound projects / Standardization for OEM's and or End Users. Engineering service roles typically involve organizing team resources to ensure alignment with business unit objectives, coordination, and overall quality control of the work.

This role is responsible for reviewing the customer inputs, understanding the job scope, generating GA drawings, BOMs, component drawings/models, and performing engineering analysis/calculations. Responsible for clean order execution on engineering & design in coordination with regional representatives and aligning to the global requirements.

• Implements engineering best practices and Flowserve standards, reviews new standards and identifies gaps
• Generates bills of material and manufacturing drawings for engineered products
• Supports customers by providing technical solutions support
• Conducts engineering analysis under supervision on areas such as hydraulic design, vibration, gear design, software and hardware design and FEA structural and dynamic analysis
• Executes special engineering tasks which involve re-engineering, schedule-driven projects, retrofit jobs, upgrading to current design standards, new product development
• Performs ATS related Engineering tasks which involve special designs for engineered applications
• Demonstrates adequate knowledge on auxiliary systems associated with mechanical seals
• Conducts Engineering analysis under supervision
• Maintains Certified Designer status
• Identifies and implements process improvement initiatives/projects
• Demonstrates the acquired credentials in par with skill matrix expectations
• Checks the correctness of the designs originated by associates and others to ensure error-free issues to downstream functions
• Ensures on-time performance of assigned tasks
• Provides engineering drawings, bills of materials, and engineering analysis quality with accuracy and well-developed content
• Drives product cost reduction
• Leads time reduction activities
• Provides responses to internal and external customer feedback; Perform RCA, implement lessons learned
• Ensures productivity
• Ensures expected KQI on assigned tasks at desired efficiency

The successful contributor in this role should demonstrate proficiency in/or possess the following:

• Engineering Diploma in Mechanical/Production discipline or Equivalent (Minimum 3-year course) with 7 years of experience in engineering industries OR Engineering Graduate with 3-5 years of experience in engineering industries preferably with Seal industry or Rotating equipment allied industry experience
• Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) methodology understanding
• Design for Manufacture (DFM) methodology
• Cross-functional knowledge of pressure vessel manufacturing, Welding, NDE
• Strong team building, organization, administration, communication, problem solving, influencing, and facilitating skills is required to manage and interact with all facility personnel, affiliates across globe and customers
• Fluency in Verbal and Written "English" communication
• Proficiency in basic IT tools such as Windows, MS-Office products, and other related tools
• Collaborative interpersonal skills
• Professional demeanor
• Taking ownership of actions, initiating things for process betterment and passion towards learning and mentoring
• Expert in ACAD (2D & 3D) and 3D modelling softwares (INVENTOR/ SOLID WORKS /CREO)
• Excellent organizational and project management skills with a track record of managing large projects
• Familiar with manufacturing processes and metallurgy
