Company:Qualcomm India Private LimitedJob Area:Engineering Group, Engineering Group > Software EngineeringGeneral Summary:Job Overview - Dept Description and Job Duties: The Radio VI/DVT team's primary function is Bring up, Evaluation, optimization and enhancement of the radio performance of Qualcomm silicon radios. The group consists of multi-disciplined (RF, Analogue, Software and Digital) engineers who work closely with specialist design and systems engineers. This broad base of knowledge is deployed to provide optimal tuning and configuration solutions for radio operation. The role is predominantly lab-based working at circuit, cell, subsystem, and system level.The BDC Bluetooth RIOG team are looking for an adaptable, enthusiastic, and reliable individual to form an integral part of our BT Radio Optimization team in Bangalore. The team will work closely with the BT FW, Systems, and Characterization team across Geos. The Team plays a pivotal role in the developing complex radio/modem features for the company's Connectivity products. Working within our team provides a unique opportunity to work across engineering disciplines from high level SOC to low-level hardware. Typical tasks for the successful applicant would include:Focusing on all aspects of the silicon design that influence the performance, qualification and test of the connectivity radios, including elements of the embedded firmware for Radio Control and defining the Production Test strategy and test limits for the radio.The individual blocks are verified in isolation before building into a complete radio system to include digits, firmware, and analogue/RF. The Engineer will be assigned to a project and be responsible for the performance and operation of the radio, interfacing directly with analogue and digital designers, systems engineers, and radio control FW engineers to provide a complete radio system solution for verification and validation in characterization over temperature and process skews.The Engineer will be responsible for generating Python/MATLAB test scripts, writing embedded C code for FW radio control, defining radio production test limits, supporting the business group with radio training materials and investigating customer issues and product returns where required.The Engineer is also expected to work on digital emulator platforms, essential knowledge of digital design flow, ability to read and debug RTL code.Analysis and support bug fixes during final stages of program to customersManages project-related activities (e.g., meetings, documentation, deliverables) between their team and other teams working on the same or similar products, operating across locations and time zones.Collaborate with senior team members to troubleshoot radio issues and finds solutions that are documented and shared with internal cross functional teams working on similar productsMinimum Qualifications:•    Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. ORMaster's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience. ORPhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.• 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in a relevant engineering discipline from an internationally recognized institution.At least 3+ years' experience in a relevant engineering roleMaster's Degree in a relevant engineering discipline from an internationally recognized institutionPrincipal Duties and Responsibilities:Key ResponsibilitiesSoftware Development:Design, implement, and optimize algorithms using Python and C for calibration, signal processing, and RF performance enhancement.Develop automation scripts for RF testing and validation workflows.Radio Systems Expertise:Apply extensive knowledge of radio fundamentals, calibration algorithms, and RF principles to ensure optimal performance of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi systems.Analyze and troubleshoot RF issues across multiple layers of communication protocols.Signal Processing & Communication:Utilize advanced signal processing techniques to improve radio communication reliability and efficiency.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate RF solutions into broader system architectures.Hardware & Lab Work:Interpret electronic schematics and work closely with hardware teams to validate designs.Perform hands-on testing using RF lab equipment such as spectrum analyzers, vector signal generators, combiners, and Bluetooth testers.RF Metrics & Performance Analysis:Monitor and evaluate RF metrics for Bluetooth and WLAN systems to ensure compliance with industry standards.Drive continuous improvement in RF performance through data-driven analysis.Collaboration & Adaptability:Work effectively in a dynamic environment, adapting to evolving project requirements.Demonstrate strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.Skills:Proficiency in Python and C programming.Deep understanding of Bluetooth/Wi-Fi technologies, RF calibration, and radio fundamentals.Strong knowledge of signal processing and radio communication principles.Experience with RF lab equipment and interpreting electronic schematics.Excellent leadership, mentorship, and team management skills.Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable taking responsibility for team outcomes.
