Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Sr. Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Mumbai. The ideal candidate will lead valve component and die-cast part design, oversee product development from concept to production, and ensure designs meet performance, cost, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead product design and development of valve components and die-cast parts using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar CAD tools.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, stress analysis, and tolerance stack-ups to ensure robust designs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, production, quality) to refine and validate designs.
  • Ensure compliance with ASME, API, and ISO standards.
  • Implement DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles for improved manufacturability.
  • Work closely with die casting and tooling teams to optimize mold design and troubleshoot production issues.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including design reports, validation plans, and BOMs.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in valve design and die casting manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and FEA tools.
  • Strong knowledge of metallurgy, casting processes, and fluid dynamics.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with ERP systems and PLM tools.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
  • Hands-on exposure to design validation and testing.
