Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and qualified Safety Officer to oversee and ensure compliance with safety standards at our construction sites in the Maldives. The ideal candidate should have solid experience in the construction industry and hold a valid OSHA or NEBOSH certification. The role focuses on maintaining a safe work environment, implementing safety procedures, and ensuring adherence to international and local HSE regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor site-specific Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies and procedures.
  • Conduct daily safety inspections, risk assessments, and hazard identifications at construction sites.
  • Ensure all site activities are carried out safely and in compliance with company and statutory standards.
  • Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and training sessions for site personnel.
  • Investigate and report accidents, incidents, and near misses, recommending corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain safety documentation, records, and compliance reports for audits.
  • Ensure the proper use and availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, and Subcontractors to maintain safety standards.
  • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly safety performance reports to management.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and drive continuous improvement in safety performance.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical) or equivalent.
  • OSHA Certification or NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) Mandatory.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Safety Officer in construction projects (building, infrastructure, or industrial).
  • In-depth understanding of international HSE standards and local safety regulations.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and incident-handling skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and safety reporting tools.
