Senior Test Lead

Gurgaon, Haryana, India

The Senior Test Lead will be responsible for driving quality engineering strategies, processes, and standards for company's diverse suite of business applications, ensuring they meet the high-quality standards.  This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams and lead the cultural shift in testing practices leveraging the best test tools,technologies, processes and framework to deliver a consistent and market leading testing service to the Enterprise applications within Global Technology. This role involves leading test planning, automation initiatives, and quality improvement projects, aligning testing efforts with business objectives.

What you'll be DOING

What will your essential responsibilities include?

  • Define and drive a comprehensive quality engineering strategy aligned with the company's business objectives, technological evolution, and industry best practices.
  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for QA engagement to ensure delivery of high quality products in Global Technology
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing quality engineering team and foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and technical excellence.
  • Establish quality standards, frameworks, and processes to ensure comprehensive testing coverage across all products and platforms.
  • Test Automation Leadership: Drive the adoption, development, and maintenance of scalable automated testing frameworks and tools across multiple platforms and products to improve testing efficiency, coverage, and repeatability.
  • Lead initiatives to explore, pilot, and integrate Generative AI technologies into testing processes, such as test case generation, defect prediction, and intelligent test data creation, to enhance testing effectiveness and reduce manual effort.
  • Manage external vendors and testing partners to ensure deliverables meet quality, timeline, and contractual expectation
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors, ensuring that service level agreements (SLAs) are met and that vendors deliver high-quality testing services
  • Plan, execute, and oversee regular QA audits to monitor compliance with testing standards, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on QA best practices during project planning, audits, and stakeholder discussions, ensuring quality principles are embedded into all phases
  • Identify gaps, root causes, and areas for improvement, ensuring corrective actions are implemented effectively
  • Identify potential quality risks across projects and products, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Contribute to the organization's QA chapter or community of practice by sharing insights, defining guidelines, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of quality engineering activities, using data-driven insights to inform decision-making.
  • Prepare and present progress reports to TCoE management and other AXA XL stakeholders as required
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to quality engineers, helping them develop their skills and expertise in quality engineering processes and practices
  • Identify the training requirements within the organization to help enhance the technical capabilities throughout the Quality Engineering teams

We're looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing QA strategies for enterprise-scale projects and complex systems
  • Demonstrated success in managing external vendors and third-party testing partners, including contract negotiations and SLA management
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality standards
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and promote standardized testing processes, frameworks, and quality standards organization-wide
  • Experience in building and leading high-performing quality engineering teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams

Desired Skills and Abilities:

  • Extensive experience in test automation, including the development and implementation of automated test frameworks.
  • Experience in implementing the GenAI based solutions to optimize testing processes
  • Robust understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and microservices architecture and their best testing aproaches. 
  • Experience with property & casualty insurance lines of business and products will be add on
