We are seeking an experienced
Head of Manufacturing
to lead end-to-end production for a fast-growing furnishings company. This role will oversee factory operations, capacity planning, quality, cost optimization, and on-time delivery while scaling manufacturing capabilities across categories like furniture, upholstery, home textiles, and décor products.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production & Plant Operations

  • Lead daily manufacturing operations across all production lines (furniture, fabrics, upholstery, soft furnishings, accessories).
  • Develop and execute production plans to meet demand forecasts and customer timelines.
  • Ensure adherence to manufacturing SOPs, safety norms, and quality standards.
  • Drive machine utilization, workforce productivity, and throughput improvement.

2. Capacity Planning & Scale-Up

  • Plan factory capacity, manpower, and machinery requirements for growth.
  • Lead expansion of new production units or lines as needed.
  • Implement automation/modernization initiatives to improve efficiency.

3. Quality Assurance

  • Build and manage QA processes for materials, in-process production, and finished goods.
  • Ensure compliance with durability, finishing, and safety standards for furnishings.
  • Work closely with design and product teams to maintain aesthetic and functional consistency.

4. Supply Chain & Material Management

  • Coordinate with procurement for timely availability of raw materials:
  • wood, fabrics, foam, metal, hardware, paints, adhesives, textiles, packaging.
  • Optimize inventory levels and reduce wastage through robust planning.
  • Implement vendor evaluation and material quality checks.

5. Cost & Efficiency Management

  • Track and reduce manufacturing costs through process improvements.
  • Manage labor productivity, production overheads, and wastage control.
  • Drive lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.

6. Team Leadership

  • Lead and upskill plant managers, supervisors, line leaders, technicians, and QA teams.
  • Build strong shop-floor discipline and a culture of accountability.
  • Establish clear KPIs for production efficiency, quality, and delivery timelines.

7. Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, EHS norms, statutory requirements, and audits.
  • Drive zero-accident culture and maintain safe working environments across plants.

8. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with design, merchandising, supply chain, sales, and customer service teams.
  • Support sampling, prototyping, and new product development (NPD).
  • Align manufacturing output with brand quality expectations and growth plans.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's in Engineering/Production/Industrial Engineering.
  • 10–18 years of experience in
    manufacturing for furniture, furnishings, home textiles, or allied industries
    .
  • Experience managing large-scale production teams and multi-line manufacturing.
  • Exposure to modular furniture, upholstery, CNC/automation, and soft furnishing production is preferred
