Job Summary:
The Mine Geologist plays a critical role in identifying, evaluating, and managing limestone deposits to ensure efficient and sustainable extraction. This position bridges geological science with mining engineering, ensuring that operations are both economically viable and environmentally responsible. He will also be responsible for identifying and evaluating Silica Mines for the Solar Glass Project of the Company
Key Responsibilities:
Geological Mapping & Surveying
Conduct detailed geological surveys of the limestone deposit. Map lithological units, faults, and other structural features.
Resource Evaluation
Analyze core samples and drill logs to determine limestone quality and quantity. Estimate reserves and prepare resource models using geological software.
Operational Support
Provide real-time geological guidance during drilling, blasting, and excavation. Monitor ore quality and ensure adherence to production targets.
Data Analysis & Reporting
Maintain geological databases and generate periodic reports. Use software like Surpac, MineScape, or GIS tools for modeling and visualization.
Environmental & Safety Compliance
Conduct risk assessments for geological hazards. Ensure mining activities comply with environmental regulations and safety standards.
Collaboration
Work closely with mining engineers, surveyors, and environmental officers. Train and supervise junior geologists or field technicians.
