Senior Frontend Engineer

Experience: 5+ years of frontend development experience, with deep expertise in HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design (Flexbox, Grid, media queries).

Location: Kochi, Infopark.

About the Role:

We are looking for a Senior Frontend Developer with strong expertise in HTML and CSS to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for translating design mockups into clean, responsive, and accessible web pages. You should have a sharp eye for detail, a deep understanding of modern frontend best practices, and the ability to create consistent, maintainable UI components.

Youll work closely with designers and backend engineers to deliver intuitive user interfaces and ensure cross-browser and device compatibility. Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and responsive frameworks is a must, and experience with basic JavaScript and frontend tools is a plus.

This role demands someone with a high sense of ownership, a passion for user experience, and the ability to work independently while maintaining alignment with the overall design and development goals.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain high-quality, semantic HTML and CSS for complex web interfaces, ensuring compatibility across browsers and devices.

Collaborate with designers to translate Figma designs into pixel-perfect, accessible UIs, balancing aesthetics with performance and usability.

Champion frontend best practices, including code organization and performance optimization.

Mentor junior and mid-level developers, conducting code reviews and leading knowledge-sharing sessions to elevate team skills.

Contribute to proof-of-concept initiatives, to modernize our tech stack and improve scalability.

Work with backend and QA teams to ensure seamless integration in a tightly coupled application, minimizing conflicts through effective communication.

Drive continuous improvement in our frontend codebase, tackling technical debt and implementing maintainable, scalable solutions.

Qualifications:

5+ years of frontend development experience, with deep expertise in HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design (Flexbox, Grid, media queries).

Experience with agile development methodologies including Scrum.

Proven ability to collaborate with designers, translating Figma designs into accessible, performant UIs.

Strong understanding of frontend best practices, including semantic markup and CSS organization (BEM or similar).

Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks, preferably Angular; familiarity with NextJS or React is a plus.

Proficiency in performance optimization techniques (e.g. lazy loading) and tools (e.g., Lighthouse, WebPageTest).

Working experience of integrating with Backend APIs and mocking endpoints.

Hands-on experience in code versioning tools such as Git.

Excellent communication and mentorship skills, with experience guiding teams or conducting knowledge-sharing.

Ability to thrive in a startup environment, balancing innovation with delivery under tight timelines.

Nice-to-Haves:

Familiarity with AI-driven development tools (e.g., Cursor IDE, Windsurf), techniques like micro-frontends etc.

Knowledge of backend integration (e.g., REST APIs and clients similar to Postman) or DevOps practices.

Ability to write scripts to automate repetitive tasks.
