Job Description

As a Lead / Architect, you will play a role in designing, developing, and overseeing the architecture for large-scale Java-based applications, ensuring they are scalable, robust, and align with business objectives. This leadership role includes guiding development teams, mentoring junior developers, performing code reviews, selecting technologies, and collaborating with stakeholders to meet enterprise standards and deliver high-quality software solutions. The architect/lead also stays current with industry trends to drive innovation and maintain architectural integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architectural Design: Define scalable, secure, and maintainable application architectures aligned with business needs.

    Technology Selection: Identify and implement suitable tools, frameworks, and platforms for optimal performance.
  • Leadership Skills: Guide and mentor team members, ensure adherence to best practices, and drive technical excellence.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders for seamless project execution.
  • Quality Verification: Enforce coding standards, conduct reviews, and ensure high-quality, reliable deliverables.
  • Problem-Solving: Address technical challenges with effective, timely solutions and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Innovation:Encourage adoption of modern design patterns, tools, and practices to enhance systems and productivity.

Requirements

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level applications using Java 8 & higher, Servlet, and JSP.
  • Write clean, efficient, and testable code with JUnit.
  • Handle XML processing for configuration and data manipulation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to team members.
  • Define and enforce coding standards, best practices, and architectural guidelines.
  • Participate in Peer reviews and ensure quality deliverables.
  • Optimize performance, troubleshoot production issues, and ensure system stability.
  • Working with build tools such as ANT is a plus.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in Java development.
  • Insurance domain experience is a strong plus.
  • Proven experience in leading teams or designing enterprise application architecture.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
