Job Title: Lab Technician (Female) – 12hr Shift

Location: UNITTAS Multispeciality Hospital, (Padur – Chennai OMR)

Department: Laboratory

Reports To: Lab Incharge

Job Summary:

The Lab Technician is responsible for conducting medical laboratory tests, preparing samples, operating diagnostic equipment, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting of results to support patient diagnosis and treatment.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Collect, label, and process patient samples (blood, urine, sputum, swabs, etc.).
  • Perform laboratory tests including hematology, biochemistry, microbiology, and serology as per protocols.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as centrifuges, analyzers, and microscopes.
  • Record, analyze, and interpret test results accurately.
  • Ensure quality control and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Maintain proper documentation and update patient reports in the system.
  • Assist doctors and nurses by providing prompt laboratory results.
  • Follow infection control and safety guidelines strictly.
  • Manage inventory of laboratory consumables and reagents.
  • Support accreditation and audit processes as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Diploma / B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT / BMLT).
  • Minimum [1 years] of experience in a hospital or diagnostic laboratory.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, laboratory techniques, and equipment handling.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in shifts.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Salary Range:

₹[10,000 – 20,000] per month (based on experience and qualifications).
