Databus is seeking an experienced and results-driven
Backend Developer
to join our engineering team. This role involves designing and implementing robust API services, managing data orchestration, and integrating with third-party systems using Django, PostgreSQL, and Redis. The ideal candidate is someone with a strong foundation in backend technologies and a passion for building scalable systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain REST APIs using Django/Django REST Framework
  • Create and manage PostgreSQL schemas, database migrations, and performance-optimized queries
  • Implement background task processing and orchestration using Celery and Redis
  • Integrate external third-party APIs for data retrieval and system communication
  • Apply caching and performance optimization strategies to ensure low-latency responses
  • Collaborate with frontend developers to define and maintain API contracts
  • Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability
  • Work alongside DevOps to support deployment, monitoring, and performance tuning of backend services

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience with Django and Django REST Framework
  • Strong proficiency in SQL with in-depth experience in PostgreSQL, including performance tuning
  • Hands-on experience with Redis for caching and task queuing
  • Proven experience integrating RESTful APIs from third-party services
  • Familiarity with Docker and standard Git workflows
  • Strong understanding of backend architecture, system design, and data flow

Work Environment:

This is a full-time,
on-site
role based at our
Chennai
