HSE Officer

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all safety rules, regulations, and company HSE policies at the construction site.
• Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
• Implement and monitor safety procedures for civil works such as excavation, concreting, scaffolding, formwork, lifting operations, and working at height.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and safety training for workers and subcontractors.
• Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all site personnel.
• Investigate accidents, near-miss incidents, and unsafe acts; prepare incident reports and corrective action plans.
• Maintain safety documentation including permits, registers, inspection records, and statutory compliance reports.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to promote a strong safety culture.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements under Factories Act, Building & Other Construction Workers (BOCW) Act, and other applicable safety laws.
• Monitor fire safety systems, emergency response procedures, and first-aid arrangements at site.
• Stop unsafe work practices and recommend corrective measures immediately.
• Liaise with external safety auditors and government authorities during inspections.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma / Degree in Safety, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Mandatory certification in Industrial Safety / Construction Safety (NEBOSH / IOSH / ADIS preferred).
• 5-7years of experience as a Safety Officer in civil construction projects.
• Good knowledge of construction safety standards, risk assessment, and legal compliance.
