The Akamai Cloud Technology Engineering team owns, develops and manages the solutions used by our engineers globally. These solutions help to run one of the largest distributed systems in the world. We collaborate with internal teams to create innovative, powerful, scalable, highly reliable and secure systems at scale.

As Senior Software Engineer, you'll design, build, and deploy highly scalable, reliable, user-friendly solutions on our infrastructure. You'll collaborate with teams across Akamai to gather requirements, architect solutions, implement features, and perform unit testing. You'll also stay updated on emerging technologies and integrating them to enhance innovation and efficiency.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Creating new features, or enhance existing functionality, from design through testing and deploymentWorking in an agile sprint environment to deliver quality software on a regular and consistent basisMeasuring, maintaining and optimizing distributed system performance and performing bug fixes of existing applicationsMentoring Junior Software Engineer on technology aspectsWorking in diverse nature of programming languages as needed

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

Have 5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related fieldBe proficient in developing applications using Java, Spring, JavaScript & databasesHave experience in working on front end technologies like Angular/bootstrap/ReactJSHave a track record of delivering reliable and secure softwareHave knowledge of one or more web programming languages such as Python, Perl or PHP
