About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in the implementation of a financial data integration and reporting platform. The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with structured financial data from SAP and other enterprise systems, building scalable ETL pipelines on Azure, and developing robust data models to support business reporting and analytics.

You'll work closely with stakeholders, business analysts, and the architecture team to ingest, transform, validate, and model data from SAP data source.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest data from SAP and Excel-based sources into Azure Data Lake.
  • Develop data transformations using SQL-based transformations within Azure Data Factory
  • Apply business logic, data validations, and transformation rules using mapping files and chart of accounts.
  • Work closely with architects to enforce naming conventions, folder structures, and reusability standards.
  • Optimize data pipelines for performance, cost, and reliability on Azure.
  • Build testable data pipelines with unit and reconciliation checks.
  • Collaborate with QA team to support UAT and business validation cycles.
  • Maintain metadata, lineage, and documentation for all datasets and jobs.

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering roles.

  • Strong proficiency in Azure Data Services:

  • Azure Data Factory

  • Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2

  • Exposure to data modeling in a finance domain (e.g., P&L, Balance Sheet structures).

  • Experience with CI/CD using Azure DevOps, Git or similar
