Role Overview

The Business Data Analyst will lead data-driven decision-making for both Import Substitution (Project–4) and Export Champions (Project–11) under the RAMP Programme. The role involves analysing 5-year import–export datasets, identifying high-potential sectors/products, developing market intelligence insights, monitoring MSME performance dashboards, and supporting evidence-based policy recommendations. The analyst will also provide analytical support for product selection, feasibility assessments, and MSME competitiveness strategies.

Key Responsibilities


• Conduct 5-year trend analysis of import surge ratios, export patterns, and domestic demand indicators.


• Identify high-potential sectors and products for import substitution using statistical models and structured datasets.


• Analyse market dynamics, supply chain structures, pricing benchmarks, and competitive landscapes.


• Develop dashboards (Power BI/Tableau) for monitoring MSME performance, product readiness, and project KPIs.


• Prepare analytical reports covering demand–supply gaps, sector insights, cluster capabilities, and MSME profiling.


• Support product feasibility studies, prototype validation, and cost benchmarking with data-driven insights.


• Generate HSN-level analytics using EXIM, DGCI&S, ICEGATE, GSTN, UDYAM, and other government datasets.


• Conduct test-marketing data evaluation and derive actionable recommendations for product adoption.


• Assist in identification and profiling of 100 MSMEs (Import Substitution) and 400 MSMEs (Export Champions).


• Develop scoring frameworks, dashboards, and monitoring mechanisms required under RAMP guidelines.


• Contribute to capacity-building sessions with data insights, trends, and analytics-driven recommendations.


• Prepare periodic MIS, KPI reports, and data presentations for TGTPC and project leadership.

Required Qualifications


• Master's Degree in Data Analytics / Statistics / Economics / Business Analytics

OR
MBA with specialization in Analytics.


• Minimum
7–12 years
of experience in data analytics, market research, or industry intelligence.


• Experience in analyzing government datasets (HSN Code data, EXIM, DGCI&S, GST, UDYAM).


• Proven experience in market demand forecasting, feasibility assessment, and MSME sector analytics.


• Ability to convert complex datasets into clear business insights for decision-making.


• Experience working with Government of India / State Government / Development agencies preferred.
