Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced ASC 606 Accountant to join our finance team. This role will be responsible for ensuring revenue recognition practices comply with ASC 606 standards for one of our large clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, revenue recognition, and financial reporting, with excellent analytical and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate revenue recognition under ASC 606 guidelines for contracts with customers.
- Review customer contracts and assess revenue implications, including identifying performance obligations, transaction prices, and allocation of prices to performance obligations.
- Prepare Excel checklist for revenue recognition and adjustments.
- Collaborate with the peer Team in the US to assess contract terms and revenue impacts, if required.
- Maintain and improve revenue recognition policies, procedures, and controls.
- Ensure closure of contracts during month-end and quarter-end close processes related to revenue accounting.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations for revenue-related activities, support any Queries from the US Team.
- Ensure compliance with ASC 606 requirements.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CA preferred.
- 3+ years of accounting experience, with a focus on ASC 606 revenue recognition.
- Strong understanding ASC 606 principles.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in SaaS, technology, or professional services industries.
- Knowledge of ASC 606 standards.
- Experience with revenue sub-ledgers or revenue management systems.
