YOUR IMPACT
We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Accountant to join our global finance team, reporting into the Director of Tax, who will oversee our sales tax, value added tax, and payroll tax functions, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations across multiple countries.
- Prepare, file, and reconcile sales and value added tax returns across multiple jurisdictions.
- Ensure timely payment of sales tax and value added tax liabilities to avoid penalties and interest.
- Research and apply sales tax and value added tax regulations to ensure compliance with changing tax laws.
- Maintain accurate exemption certificates and ensure proper documentation is on file.
- Assist in responding to all applicable audits, including gathering and providing necessary documentation.
- Research any payroll tax notices received and work closely with payroll teams and global ADP teams to resolve.
- Stay informed of global payroll tax changes and implement necessary updates to processes or systems.
- Collaborate with HR and payroll teams to ensure compliance with global applicable tax laws and reporting requirements.
- Reconcile applicable tax-related accounts and maintain accurate financial records.
- Prepare audit and ad hoc reports on sales, value added, and payroll tax liabilities for internal and external stakeholders as needed.
- Conduct regular applicable tax analysis to identify risks, trends, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Support the implementation of tax software or automation tools to streamline global tax compliance.
- Provide guidance to internal teams on applicable tax-related matters, including training on tax policies.
- Assist with ad hoc projects or initiatives as needed.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or similar certification is a plus.
- 2+ years of experience in sales tax, value added tax, and payroll tax accounting, preferably in a multi-jurisdictional environment.
- Experience in the United States, Canada, the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, and India.
- Experience with tax preparation software and ERP systems (e.g., Avalara, ADP, Workday).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
- Familiarity with tax research tools and resources.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate complex tax issues effectively.
