About the Role

Workday is seeking a highly motivated and analytical Finance Intern to join our dynamic Business Finance team. This is an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on experience in finance, focusing specifically on financial performance analysis, budgeting, and reporting within a high-growth technology company.
We are looking for an organized, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic learner who is eager to contribute immediately and build foundational skills in FP&A.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting & Dashboards: Contribute to the creation, maintenance, and automation of key financial reports and executive dashboards, directly supporting the communication and analysis of business performance.

  • Performance Analysis: Conduct initial variance analysis (Actuals vs. Plan/Forecast) during the month-end close process, identifying and summarizing the root causes of significant financial trends and anomalies.

  • Data & System Integrity: Assist in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial data within our systems, ensuring all reporting is reliable and consistent.

  • Ad-Hoc Business Support: Respond to time-sensitive data and analysis requests from team members, creating clear, accurate, and insightful reports to support strategic business partner discussions.

  • Budgeting Support: Aid in the planning or monthly forecasting process by gathering essential data, consolidating submissions, and maintaining financial models.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with finance team members and business partners across the organization to gather essential data and information required for comprehensive financial reporting.

About You Required Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a closely related quantitative field.
  • Strong academic track record and a genuine, demonstrated interest in a career in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A).
  • Must be able to commit to the full duration of the 23 week internship (Start Date: Feb 9, 2026) in Heredia, Costa Rica.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
  • Anticipated graduation date of June/July 2026.

  • Organization & Communication: Strong organizational and time management abilities necessary to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines, supported by excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Proactive & Results-Oriented: A proactive, adaptable self-starter who thrives in a dynamic, high-growth setting, demonstrating an eager-to-learn attitude and an unwavering commitment to detail and accuracy in all work.

  • Curiosity: A natural curiosity and passion for using data and financial models to understand and influence business performance.

  • Highly adaptable and agile: Capable of quickly pivoting and thriving amidst the rapid changes inherent in a high-growth technology environment.

  • Analytical Proficiency: Solid proficiency with MS Excel (or Google Sheets) and PowerPoint (or Google Slides).

  • Systems Experience (Plus): Familiarity with or interest in learning Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems or financial planning tools (e.g., Workday Adaptive Planning).
