Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Dance Teacher to instruct students in dance techniques, choreography, and performance. The ideal candidate will inspire creativity, build confidence, and ensure a safe, inclusive learning environment for students of varying ages and skill levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach dance classes (e.g., hip-hop, ballet, contemporary, jazz, or cultural styles)
- Plan and deliver structured lessons appropriate to students' age and ability
- Create and teach choreography for classes, performances, or competitions
- Demonstrate proper technique, rhythm, and movement
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Ensure student safety and follow studio/school guidelines
- Prepare students for recitals, exams, or performances
- Maintain attendance and basic class records
- Communicate professionally with students, parents, and staff
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a dance teacher or performer
- Strong knowledge of at least one dance style
- Ability to work with children and/or teenagers
- Good communication and classroom management skills
- Physical ability to demonstrate dance movements
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal training or certification in dance
- Teaching experience in a school or dance studio
- Choreography and performance experience
- First aid or child-safety training (if working with minors)
