Job Title: Deputy Medical Superintendent

Location: Ranchi Jharkhand

Reports To: Medical Superintendent / Hospital Director

Position Type: Full-time

Job Purpose:

To assist the Medical Superintendent in the efficient management of medical services, ensuring high-quality clinical standards, regulatory compliance, patient safety, and inter-departmental coordination across the hospital. This role bridges clinical and administrative functions to maintain seamless hospital operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Medical Administration & Operations

Supervise day-to-day clinical operations and coordinate with departments to ensure smooth service delivery.

Ensure medical services are in line with hospital protocols and healthcare regulations.

Work closely with the Medical Superintendent in implementing clinical governance strategies.

Manage doctors duty rosters, leave schedules, and manpower planning.

  1. Patient Care & Quality Assurance

Monitor patient care delivery processes, including timely rounds and medical record documentation.

Handle critical patient cases and grievances as required.

Support quality improvement initiatives like NABH, JCI, or other accreditation processes.

  1. Compliance & Policy Implementation

Ensure adherence to statutory requirements under Clinical Establishment Act, Biomedical Waste Management Rules, etc.

Implement infection control protocols and monitor clinical safety measures.

Maintain medico-legal records and ensure readiness for audits and inspections.

  1. Team Supervision & Coordination

Act as a liaison between clinical staff and hospital management.

Support training and CME programs for junior doctors and paramedical staff.

Provide leadership during emergencies, disaster drills, or outbreaks.

  1. Data Management & Reporting

Monitor and analyze hospital MIS reports and clinical KPIs.

Report to the Medical Superintendent on daily operations and critical incidents.

Qualifications:

Education: MBBS ; Postgraduate qualification in Hospital Administration or Healthcare Management is desirable.

Experience: Minimum 2 to 4 years in a hospital administration role, preferably as an Assistant Medical Superintendent or equivalent.

Certifications: Exposure to NABH, JCI, or other hospital quality standards is preferred.

Key Skills:

Strong leadership and decision-making ability

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Sound understanding of hospital operations and patient care protocols

Analytical mindset with ability to interpret clinical and operational data

Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation frameworks
