So what does an Associate Database Administrator do? Think of yourself as someone who will be performing administrative tasks and day to day Database Management duties for our Core Apps tools and solutions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee administration and maintenance of different database engines, both On-Prem and in AWS. This also includes Data Warehouses in the Cloud (Redshift experience is a plus).

• Perform health checks and performance tuning to ensure databases are available and healthy.

• Place and Test disaster recovery plans for all databases.

• Ensure protocols for DB security and data privacy are in place.

• Maintain compliance of all databases to various InfoSec and Audit bodies

• Automate tasks as deemed necessary.

• Handle Database service request tickets in a timely manner

• Audit accounts on periodic review

• Collaborate with Various IT groups for support needed on Infrastructure requests and dependencies

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Technology, or a related field of study.

• Advanced Experience (minimum of 2 years) in handling DBA tasks for MySQL and SQL Servers including installation, upgrades, patching, and deployments.

• Experience in administration of Data Warehouses (Redshift is a plus).

• Experience in handling Amazon Aurora (fully managed relational database engine compatible with MySQL and PostgreSQL).

• Proficient with high availability tools like AWS DMS, Always On, FCI, Replication, etc.

• Experience in Database monitoring tools such as SQL Server Profiler

• Proficient in SQL (Structured Query Language) for managing relational databases, primarily T-SQL extension.

• Hands on experience implementing Disaster Recovery for different platforms.

• Experience or knowledge of handling PCI-DSS, Data Privacy, and DB audits

• DB hardening based on CIS

• Knowledge of DB performance tuning and SQL tuning
