Key Responsibilities

• The position will have as primary focus the responsibility for power system studies based on grid codes requirements and for the synthesis of engineering design specifications for PG products and project specific requirements at both unit and plant level.
• The candidate will join a team of product engineers focused on achieving grid code compliance program roadmap objectives, defined according to strategic country or regional energy regulatory frameworks requirements and business driven priorities.
• The team is accountable for Control System HW/SW, Electrical, Hydro-mechanical design and simulation model developments to ensure the compliance with grid codes requirements.
• The candidate will actively collaborate with subject matter experts and technical leaders to elaborate and maintain compliance test procedures, interfacing with accredited measurements institutes, laboratories, certification entities and main component suppliers.
• In the framework of type certification process, the candidate will be accountable for the preparation of electrical characteristics measurement campaigns at production test cells or at customer premises, and related test report reviews.
• Other accountabilities include are not limited to: technical trainings sessions with other departments, technical content for program stakeholder review meetings, grid connection regulations gap analysis reports, attend project meetings with customer or grid connection consultants, support front-end engineering departments for feasibility studies and quotations.
• As additional responsibilities, the candidate will be also responsible for the design, technical specifications, interface definition of electrical low voltage panels and medium voltage generator. The candidate will cooperate as Generator System Lead with mechanical, controls and software engineers and electrical drafters, and will have contact with suppliers, workshop, customers service and project application engineers.

Work Experience

We are looking for a team member having strong competency in below areas:

• Perform power system simulation studies for grid interconnection of synchronous generation-based gas turbine projects.
• Conduct load flow, short circuit, and dynamic stability studies using industry-standard software (e.g., PSS/E, PowerFactory (Predominant skillset), PSCAD). Conduct other grid compliance studies including harmonics, flicker and reactive power capability. Need expertise in both RMS and EMT simulations.
• Ensure compliance with relevant grid codes and standards. For e.g., Europe (ENTSO) , USA (IEEE 1547, NERC, MISO), Australia ( AEMO, Western Power), Mexico).
• Analyse simulation results, identify potential issues, and recommend mitigation strategies for Grid integration studies in Power Factory.
• Develop and maintain technical reports, documentation, and presentations.
• Proven expertise in power system simulation tools, such as PSCAD, PowerFactory, or PSSE. python scripting.
