Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled SQL Test Engineer with advanced SQL expertise and strong experience in data validation for data migration projects to Databricks. The ideal candidate will have hands-on knowledge of Databricks, experience in testing large-scale data pipelines, and the ability to design and execute comprehensive validation strategies. Knowledge of SAP BusinessObjects (BO) is an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced SQL testing to validate data accuracy, integrity, and transformations across multiple sources and targets.
  • Conduct data validation and reconciliation for large-scale data migration projects into Databricks.
  • Work closely with data engineers, migration teams, and business analysts to ensure data quality and compliance.
  • Develop and execute test cases, queries, and scripts for data validation and ETL testing.
  • Identify, document, and track data issues, working with stakeholders for resolution.
  • Provide test reports and validation sign-offs for data migration milestones.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve testing processes, automation, and frameworks.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Advanced SQL skills with expertise in writing complex queries for validation and reconciliation.
  • Proven experience in data testing/validation for migration projects, preferably involving Databricks.
  • Strong understanding of ETL workflows, data warehousing, and big data ecosystems.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets and ensure data completeness, consistency, and accuracy.
  • Hands-on experience in Databricks environment (Delta Lake, Spark SQL, Dataframes preferred).
  • Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of SAP BusinessObjects (BO) for reporting and validation.
  • Familiarity with data governance and data quality frameworks.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) integrated with Databricks.
