Job Summary
The Staff Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality patient care, maintaining nursing standards, and ensuring patient safety across assigned departments. The role involves clinical duties, documentation, patient education, and coordination with the healthcare team.
Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Care
- Provide direct patient care as per nursing protocols and doctor's instructions.
- Monitor vital signs (BP, pulse, SpO₂, temperature) and record timely.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, injections, and maintain medication charts.
- Assist in nursing procedures (dressing, catheterization, Ryle's tube insertion, etc.).
- Maintain patient hygiene and comfort.
Clinical Duties
- Assist doctors during rounds, procedures, and emergencies.
- Prepare and maintain patient care equipment (monitors, suction, infusion pumps).
- Perform emergency management (BLS/CPR).
- Follow infection control and patient safety protocols.
Documentation
- Maintain patient records, nursing notes, intake/output charts.
- Update patient files and handover notes accurately during shift changes.
- Prepare reports and documentation as required.
Coordination
- Communicate effectively with doctors, technicians, and support staff.
- Educate patients and their attendants about treatment, medications, and discharge instructions.
- Report any critical changes in patient condition immediately.
Skills Required
- Clinical knowledge (vital monitoring, medication handling).
- Ability to work in ICU / Ward / OT / ER (department-specific skills).
- Good communication and patient-handling skills.
- Basic computer knowledge for documentation.
- Teamwork and time-management.
Shift & Working Conditions
- Rotational shifts (Morning / Evening / Night).
- Must be able to work under pressure and during medical emergencies.
Salary Range
- ₹15,000 – ₹35,000 per month (based on experience & department).
