Technical Manager

Job Purpose:

To support the engineering , production, and quality assurance of FRP/GRE/GRP tanks, vessels, and scrubbers by performing engineering calculations as per
BS EN :2016
and other relevant international standards. The engineer will be responsible for ensuring that the standards that meets safety, durability, and client specifications while coordinating with production teams for efficient manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

1.
Engineering

• Perform detailed
mechanical calculations
for FRP tanks, vessels, and equipment in accordance with
BS EN :2016
and other applicable standards (e.g., ASTM, ASME RTP-1, ISO, BIS).

• Calculate
hoop stress, axial stress, buckling loads, wind loads, earthquake loads, vacuum & pressure ratings
.

• Conduct
critical buckling pressure and combined load analysis
for tanks and scrubbers.

• Prepare
data sheets, engineering drawings inputs, and thickness calculations
for client submission and internal use.

2.
Production Support

• Work closely with the
production team
to ensure designs are practically manufacturable using
Hand Lay-up, Filament Winding, and Vacuum Infusion
processes.

• Provide
technical guidance
to shop-floor teams regarding lay-up sequences, resin-glass ratios, stiffener reinforcements , and nozzle reinforcements.

• Monitor fabrication processes to ensure compliance with design and quality requirements.

3.
Documentation & Compliance

• Prepare and review 
calculation sheets, and drawings
for client approval.

• Ensure compliance with
health, safety, and environmental
standards in d manufacturing.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of international codes and standards applicable to FRP tank design.

4.
Client & Project Coordination

• Interact with
clients/consultants
for technical clarifications related to tank design and manufacturing.

• Support project managers with technical inputs for tendering, estimation, and proposal preparation.

• Assist in
troubleshooting
engineering -related issues during inspection, testing, or site installation.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of
FRP tank engineering codes
(BS EN :2016, ASME RTP-1, ASTM, ISO standards).

• Hands-on experience with
structural mechanics & strength of materials
.

• Proficiency in MS Excel-based design sheets.

• Knowledge of
FRP manufacturing processes
(Hand Lay-up, Vacuum Infusion, Filament Winding).

• Ability to interpret customers 
P&IDs, GA drawings, fabrication drawings
.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Good communication and documentation skills.

Qualifications & Experience:

•
B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering / Chemical Engineering
or equivalent.

•
2–5 years
of experience in
design and production of FRP/GRP tanks, vessels, or scrubbers
.

• Familiarity with
QA/QC procedures
in composite manufacturing is an added advantage.
