Looking for a proficient and hands-on Storage Engineer with deep, practical experience in a diverse enterprise storage environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end management, performance, and integrity of our storage infrastructure, including high-end, mid-range, and scale-out NAS platforms, as well as the underlying SAN fabric. Expertise in the listed technologies is non-negotiable.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Design & Implementation:

Architect, deploy, and configure new storage solutions across the NetApp, Dell EMC, and HP portfolios.

Lead technology refresh projects, migrations, and upgrades for legacy systems (e.g., VNX) to modern platforms (e.g., PowerStore, PowerMax).

Daily Administration & Provisioning:

Provision and manage storage on all platforms:

NetApp FAS: Volume/LUN creation, QoS, SnapMirror replication, SnapVault for backup.

Dell EMC:PowerMax/VMAX, PowerStore, Isilon (NDMP, SmartPools, SyncIQ), VNX (Unisphere, Block & File), Unity

HP MSA

Provide storage to a variety of hosts including VMware ESXi, Windows, Linux, and UNIX servers.

SAN Fabric Management:

Administer and troubleshoot the Brocade and Cisco MDS SAN environment.

Perform zoning configuration.

Manage switch firmware upgrades, port licensing, and performance monitoring.

Performed patches and OS upgrades on SAN Switches.

Performance & Capacity Optimization:

Proactively monitor all storage arrays and SAN switches for health, performance bottlenecks (IOPS, latency, throughput), and capacity thresholds.

Utilize tools: NetApp Active IQ, Dell EMC CloudIQ, Unisphere, Stor2rrd.

Generate performance reports and make recommendations for improvements.

Performed patches and OS upgrades on storage arrays.

Data Protection & Disaster Recovery:

Configure and manage local and remote replication technologies: SnapMirror, SRDF (Metro/Sync/Async), SyncIQ.

Execute and validate disaster recovery failover tests to meet business RPO and RTO requirements.

Experience: 2 to 5 years of direct hands-on experience administering multi-vendor enterprise storage environments.

Technical Expertise:

Dell EMC Block: Deep hands-on experience with Dell EMC PowerMax or VMAX (including SRDF management) and PowerStore.

Dell EMC File: Deep hands-on experience with Dell EMC Isilon (OneFS) and VNX (File).

NetApp: Expert-level knowledge of NetApp FAS systems running ONTAP (cDOT). Must have implemented and managed SnapMirror.

HP: Proven experience with HP MSA series arrays.

SAN Fabric: Expert-level knowledge in administering both Brocade and Cisco MDS switches, including zoning and troubleshooting.

Protocols: FC, iSCSI, NFS, and SMB/CIFS protocols.

Soft Skills:

Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple high-priority tasks.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Certifications: A certification in any major storage platform (e.g., EMC, NetApp) is a significant plus.
