We are currently seeking a Engineering Systems Support Specialist, to join our Chennai Team, and this position will be directly reporting to Head, Local systems Portfolio Manager. India

About the mission we offer you:

The Engineering Tool Support Specialist must be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment. This role is essential for maintaining the productivity and efficiency of engineering teams by ensuring they have reliable access to the tools they need.

Qualifications / Skills:

• Bachelor's degree / Diploma in Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical or a related field.

• Minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry or similar role

• Experience in technical support or engineering role, preferably in a similar industry.

• Proficiency in engineering software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Bricscad, Tekla, ETAP, Bentley STaadPro, Aspen, Hexagon products, Smart 3D & Smart P&ID, Aveva etc).

• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure and software deployment.

• Familiarity with scripting and automation tools is a plus.

• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.

• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

- Any specialization / certification in different 2D, 3D modeling software is a plus
- Experience of ITIL work process is a plus

1. Tool Management: 

-Install, configure, and maintain engineering software tools and applications.

-Ensure all tools are up to date with the latest patches and versions. 

-Manage licenses and ensure compliance with vendor agreements. 

2. Technical Support: 

- Provide technical support to engineering teams for tool-related issues.

 - Troubleshoot and resolve software and serve as the primary point of contact for tool-related inquiries.

 3. User Training and Documentation: 

- Develop and co-ordinate training sessions for engineering staff on tool usage liaising with group / local suppliers.

 - Create and maintain documentation, including user guides and FAQs.

 - Assist users in understanding and utilizing tools effectively. 

4. Collaboration and Coordination:

 - Work closely with Digiteam, iSolv and engineering teams to integrate tools into workflows.

 - Collaborate with vendors and external partners for tool enhancements and support.

 - Coordinate with project managers to ensure tools meet project requirements. 

5. Performance Monitoring and Optimization:

 - Monitor tool performance and usage metrics

. - Identify opportunities for tool optimization and process improvements.

 - Implement best practices for tool usage and management.

 6. Security and Compliance:

 - Ensure tools are secure and comply with organizational security policies

. - Conduct regular audits and assessments of tool security and compliance.
