A. Statutory Compliance (Mandatory under Factories Act)
- Implement all requirements of Factories Act, Gujarat Factories Rules, and EHS statutory norms.
Maintain mandatory registers:
Accident Register (Form 11)
- Safety Committee minutes
- PPE register
Training register
Ensure compliance with:
Fire NOC, PESO, Hazardous Waste Authorization, Air/Water Consents
Electrical safety, pressure vessel testing, lifting tools/tackles inspection
Coordinate with government authorities (DISH, GPCB, Fire Department).
B. Plant Safety Management
- Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, risk assessments (HIRA/JSA).
Ensure safe operations in:
Cleanroom areas
- Chemical handling (acid/solvent lines)
- Material movement forklifts, cranes
- Utility boilers, chillers, air compressors
Solar cell process tools
Monitor and enforce LOTO, work-at-height, confined space entry, hot work permits.
C. Incident & Emergency Management
- Lead incident reporting, root cause analysis, CAPA implementation.
Maintain and test:
Emergency alarms
- Fire hydrants & extinguishers
First-aid centers
Conduct emergency mock drills (fire, chemical spill, evacuation).
D. Chemical & Hazardous Material Safety
- Ensure chemical storage compliance (MSDS, labeling, segregation).
- Assess hazardous waste handling as per GPCB guidelines.
- Monitor effluent treatment safety (ETP/WWTP).
- Training for chemical spill control & PPE use.
E. Training & Awareness
- Conduct EHS induction for all employees/contractors.
Organize regular training modules:
Fire safety
- Chemical safety
- Machine safety
- Defensive driving
PPE usage
Certify contractors before work commencement.
F. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain daily, monthly, annual EHS reports:
Near miss, unsafe act/condition, observations
- Environmental monitoring logs
Accident data (LTIFR, TRIR)
Maintain ISO45001 documentation and prepare for audits.
G. Contractor Safety Management
- Enforce entry gate compliance for labour & vendors.
- Ensure JSA for high-risk jobs.
- Evaluate contractor performance on safety KPIs.
