Senior Manager Data Science (AI CoE)

Location: Mumbai (Hybrid – at least 3 days per week in office)

Experience: 7+ years

Budget: 39–49 LPA Fixed + 10% Variable

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our Data Science & AI Center of Excellence. This role offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI solutions that address complex business problems, with a focus on Generative AI, Large Language Models, Neural Networks, Computer Vision, and Machine Learning.

This is an individual contributor role requiring deep expertise in AI and Data Science, with opportunities to design, develop, and implement advanced solutions that create real business impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop solutions based on Large Language Models, advanced transformers, and deep learning models.
  • Work on image and video-based models including object detection, multimodal RAGs, and video/image processing.
  • Build, deploy, and manage API-driven AI solutions on cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
  • Translate business problems into AI/ML approaches using structured and unstructured data.
  • Mine and analyze data to drive optimization and implement business strategies.
  • Design and build statistical models and algorithms from scratch for new product development.
  • Stay up-to-date with the fast-evolving AI ecosystem and integrate research-level advancements into business solutions.
  • Contribute to data architecture for enterprise-level applications.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members on AI model building and deployment.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in Data Science, AI research, or related domains.
  • Expertise in Python and frameworks such as NumPy, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, SQL.
  • Familiarity with Hugging Face and its model libraries.
  • Strong foundation in mathematics, statistics, and algorithm design.
  • Experience in deploying AI/ML solutions on cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
  • Ability to influence and collaborate across technical and business teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Hands-on experience in building, training, and deploying advanced AI models from scratch.
  • Experience with insurance, banking, or financial services (advantage).
  • Familiarity with stochastic/econometric modeling.
  • Experience building data visualizations (Plotly, Dash, ).
  • Strong understanding of risk management and applied AI concepts (language, vision, multimodal models).
