Our team designs, develops, and manages applications and infrastructure supporting Akamai's Compute, CDN, and security products. We specialize in creating solutions that help improve observability and enforce SLAs across all internal teams. We do this to make life better for billions of people, billions of times a day.
Collaborate with others to build the best solutions for customers
As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will perform system analysis and troubleshoot issues. You'll assess performance and capacity of our platform, and make improvement recommendations. Help shape the direction of our products and services and how we deploy our network.
As a Site Reliability Engineer Senior, you will be responsible for:
Testing efficiencies and fragilities, write software or infrastructure fixes. (Require fluency in both software code and IaC).Designing and working with Engineering or the SRE team to build automation or provide self-service toolsUsing data analysis, network diagnostics and debugging to characterize performance and capacity of large-scale distributed systems.Designing, managing and tracking of Akamai's platform related KPIs to identify trends and changes to improve performance.Investigating proactively and analyzing platform performance to identify opportunities to maintain and enhance our advantage.Collaborating with internal teams to help trouble-shoot and resolve escalations and incidents for our customers.Do what you love
To be successful in this role you will:
Have relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fieldDemonstrate experience in developing solutions Python, bash, or other languagesDemonstrate experience in internet protocols such as DNS, HTTP, TCPHave experience working with and analyzing complex systems in Linux, VM, and Kubernetes production environments.Show excellent communication skills and articulate technical information in a clear and easy to understand manner.Able to manage priorities and multiple tasks. Be a self-starter, and have a drive to improve resultsWork in a way that works for you
