Advanced Compensation HRIS Analyst
GENERAL PURPOSE
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient
Advanced Compensation HRIS Analyst
with expertise in
Workday
to support and optimize the configuration, testing, and maintenance of Advanced Compensation processes. This role will be closely partnered with Compensation, HRIS, Total Rewards, and HR Business Partners to ensure seamless execution of annual and off-cycle compensation events, including merit reviews, bonus cycles, and stock grants.
Essential Functions
- Serve as subject matter expert (SME) on Workday Advanced Compensation including merit, bonus, and equity modules.
- Configure and support annual compensation cycles, including merit increases, promotions, and bonus plans in Workday.
- Maintain and update compensation grids, eligibility rules, compensation plans, and compensation review templates.
- Partner with Compensation and HR teams to translate business requirements into technical Workday configuration.
- Create and execute test plans and test cases; validate configuration during UAT and resolve defects or configuration issues.
- Develop and maintain compensation reports and dashboards using Workday Report Writer or Prism Analytics.
- Support Workday releases and evaluate impact on Advanced Compensation modules; implement necessary changes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to compensation transactions, eligibility, approvals, or system logic.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Payroll, Finance, HRBPs) for seamless compensation process delivery.
- Maintain documentation for configuration, process design, and user training.
- Provide training and guidance to HR users and managers on compensation processes within Workday.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.
- 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in HRIS roles, with 2+ years specifically in Workday Advanced Compensation.
- Strong understanding of HR processes, compensation structures, and data management.
- Proven experience configuring and supporting Workday compensation cycles end-to-end.
- Proficiency with Workday Report Writer, calculated fields, EIBs, and basic Workday security model.
- Experience in testing, issue resolution, and process documentation.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Workday Pro Certification in Advanced Compensation OR Advance Comp Certified by Workday
- Experience with stock/equity compensation administration in Workday.
- Familiarity with Workday HCM, Core Compensation, and Talent modules.
- Experience working in global organizations and supporting multiple geographies.
