Java Engineer requirement

We are seeking a skilled Java Migration Engineer to lead the migration of a containerized Java, Spring Boot application to AWS ECS (Elastic Container Service) or Azure Kubernetes. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Java/J2EE to analyze and understand the current application architecture, along with hands-on experience in cloud-native technologies, container orchestration, and CI/CD automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze the current Java/J2EE and Spring Boot application architecture, dependencies, and deployment model.
  • Identify and resolve application dependencies such as application configuration, logging, alarm etc
  • Containerize applications using Docker and optimize images for performance and security
  • Configure ECS clusters, task definitions, services, and networking components.
  • Integrate with AWS services such as CloudWatch, IAM, Secrets Manager, RDS, and S3.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or AWS Code Pipeline.
  • Ensure compliance with security and data governance standards.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot ECS deployments and application performance.
  • Document architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.

Must-Have Skills and Expertise:

  • Strong experience in Java, J2EE, and Spring Boot development.
  • Ability to analyze legacy Java applications and refactor or containerize for cloud deployment.
  • Proficiency in Docker and container lifecycle management.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS ECS, including Fargate and EC2 launch types.
  • Familiarity with AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or other IaC tools.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Knowledge of AWS networking, IAM roles, VPC, ALB/NLB, and security groups.
  • Understanding of logging, monitoring, and alerting using AWS CloudWatch or similar tools.
  • Experience with Git, Linux, and scripting (Bash, Python).
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
