Solar Maintenance Technician

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Solar Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of solar energy systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong electrical background and have experience working in construction environments. You will work closely with other technicians and contractors to ensure that solar systems are installed efficiently and safely, adhering to all relevant codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Install solar panels and associated equipment on residential and commercial properties.
• Conduct site assessments to determine optimal installation locations.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics for effective installation.
• Perform electrical work including high voltage and low voltage installations.
• Ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) during installations.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and forklifts safely and effectively on job sites.
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues related to solar systems.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment on construction sites.
• Assist in fixture installation and perform basic plumbing tasks as needed.

Experience

• Proven experience as an electrician or in a related field, preferably with commercial electrician experience.
• Familiarity with high voltage systems, low voltage systems, and NEC regulations.
• Experience reading schematics and blueprints is essential.
• Hands-on experience with construction site operations including roofing tasks.
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and forklifts safely.
• Previous experience in the solar industry or related fields is a plus but not required.
