About Christel House:

Christel House is a global non-profit organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty through education. They help to transform the lives of underprivileged children by providing a comprehensive K12 education, nutritious meals, character development, college and career guidance, and family support. Christel House, India is starting new schools in Pune and Thane. We are looking for competent Primary Subject Teachers (English, Math, Science, EVS, Computer, PE, Arts, Music and Special Educator, Librarian) for our new school in Thane.

Job Title: Full Time Primary School Teacher-Thane

Job Overview:

As a primary school teacher, you will nurture students academic, social, and emotional growth. You will plan and deliver engaging lessons, assess progress, create a positive learning environment, and collaborate with colleagues and parents to support each childs educational journey.

Main Roles and Responsibilities of a Primary School Teacher

Curriculum Planning & Teaching:

• Design and deliver lesson plans, schemes of work, and courses suited to student needs.
• Integrate EVS, literacy, and mathematics for holistic learning.
• Use storytelling, play, media, and field trips to make learning engaging and experiential.

Student Assessment & Support:

• Conduct formative and summative assessments and update results on SIS and SharePoint.
• Communicate with parents about student progress and collaborate to support learning.
• Analyse FA and SA data with the Instructional Coach and D.P. to improve teaching strategies.
• Work with R.T.I. and co-curricular staff for an integrated curriculum.

Classroom Environment & Safety:

• Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
• Create curriculum-aligned displays and model respectful behaviour.
• Supervise students during transitions, mealtimes, and dispersal to ensure safety and well-being.

Other Important Tasks:

• Serve as a homeroom/class teacher, providing daily pastoral care and support.
• Attend staff and departmental meetings, workshops, and school events beyond regular hours.
• Supervise students during assemblies, lunch, and transitions; substitute for absent teachers when required.
• Participate In-house duties, committees, invigilation, and evaluation tasks.
• Create supplementary teaching resources and prepare students for events like sports days and annual functions.
• Maintain accurate records, complete appraisals, and reflect on teaching practices for continuous improvement.

Compensation:

At Christel House India, we highly value the passion and expertise our teachers bring. Compensation is competitive, ranging from 30,000 -40,000 per month (gross) for those with 14 years of experience and up to 50,000 for experienced educators. Qualifications / Requirements:

• Graduate with a Bachelors Degree in Education (highly preferred).
• 1+ years of prior teaching experience in relevant field
• Strong understanding of child development principles and effective teaching methods for primary students.
• Excellent communication, instructional, and storytelling skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Patient, friendly, reliable, and passionate about working with young learners.
