- Curriculum and training delivery:
- Develop and deliver classroom and hands-on training sessions.
- Provide practical instruction on skills like physical and psychological patient assessments, treatment plans, and adaptive equipment usage.
- Educate on specific hospital or OT protocols, such as infection control, equipment setup, and the use of specialised equipment.
- Student evaluation and support:
- Prepare and grade assignments, practical evaluations, and exams.
- Monitor and record student progress, attendance, and feedback.
- Provide academic and professional guidance to students.
- Practical and clinical experience:
- Coordinate clinical rotations or hospital visits to provide students with real-world experience.
- Supervise students during their internships and ensure they adhere to safety protocols.
- Professional development:
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in occupational therapy and surgical procedures.
- Participate in workshops, faculty meetings, and other quality improvement activities.
- Administrative duties:
- Maintain a professional and disciplined learning environment.
- Assist with administrative tasks like record-keeping and student counseling.
Qualifications and requirements
- Experience in OT Trainer or a related field.
- Relevant professional certifications.
- Experience in a clinical setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of teaching methodologies and curriculum development.
