A Solution Architect here is someone who designs end-to-end F&A process solutions by combining business process knowledge, domain expertise, and technology tools. Instead of only looking at IT architecture, they design business process solutions that improve efficiency, compliance, and cost-effectiveness for F&A operations within a BPM setup.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Process Assessment & Requirement Gathering

  2. Understand clients existing finance processes (e.g., Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, Record-to-Report).

  3. Identify inefficiencies, compliance gaps, and automation opportunities.

  4. Solution Design

  5. Create a blueprint of the to-be" process by leveraging BPM tools, automation, and domain best practices.

  6. Define workflows, controls, SLAs, dashboards, and governance models.

  7. Technology & Tools Integration

  8. Recommend tools like RPA (UiPath, Automation Anywhere), AI/ML-based invoice processing, workflow automation, OCR, analytics platforms.

  9. Ensure seamless integration with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics, etc.).

  10. Domain-Specific Expertise

  11. Apply F&A knowledge:

  12. P2P automated invoice capture, 3-way match, vendor helpdesk workflows.

  13. O2C cash application automation, credit checks, collection strategies.

  14. R2R automated reconciliations, month-end close accelerators, compliance controls.

  15. Stakeholder Management

  16. Act as a bridge between business leaders, operations teams, IT, and clients.

  17. Demonstrate how the solution improves cost savings, accuracy, and compliance.

Skills Required

  • BPM knowledge: Workflow design, process orchestration, SLA/KPI governance.
  • F&A domain expertise: Deep knowledge of accounting principles, compliance frameworks (SOX, IFRS, GAAP).
  • Automation & Digital skills: RPA, AI/ML in finance, analytics dashboards, OCR tools.
  • ERP knowledge: SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics, NetSuite.

Consulting & Presales: Often involved in solutioning during client bids and RFP responses.
